Sentences using a word a day for the week 12/09/2018

The words:
Galumph, repartee, immure, lunette perennial, zibeline, nidus.

Professional sports have become somewhat of a “showboating” exercise in that it seems that the athletes now feel it necessary to galumph after a particular accomplishment even if it was inconsequential in the ultimate outcome of a particular sporting event. Whenever I witness something of an over-the-top celebration, my repartee is “get back to your bench or team and prepare yourself for the next play or the rest of the game rather than expend extra energy on some foolhardy gyration.”

The reality of my observations and comments simply will never reach the consciousness of the athletes who find galumphing to their liking. Even if I were to penetrate the thoughts of the athletes, I am sure they would immure themselves from my critique of their actions. In fact many would think that their actions are instead praise worthy and accent the entire sports event like a lunette complements the a great extravagant dome of some fine architecture.

So as an observer of sports it is evident to me that I will forever be subject to the perennial antics of athletes’ behavior that I deem to be rather childish and immature. I confess the only realistic action to take is to wrap myself in some zibeline and watch a classic movie or read a good book and keep my critique to myself. Yet I will always wonder from what nidus did the immature, showboating, foolhardy practice of nonsensical celebration spawn?

I hope you have a delightful experience today and every day henceforth.

What is there to say about me? I am not sure if I am typical or not, average or not, smart or not, BUT I think I definitely have a sense of humor. I am an aging baby boomer wondering if I have something to say about the world as I see it.
